Negativity, we all don’t like it. And positivity is shoved into your nose by the world. “Be positive!”, “Live, Laugh, Love”, “Keep positive and carry on”, and so on. We get it…we NEED to be positive. However, sometimes you don’t feel like being positive. So empower yourself by accepting some things around positivity and negativity.

Negativity meaning
Negativity means feeling sad and/or miserable, which can make you dislike yourself and others. It’s having the tendency to be downward, aggressive, pessimistic, and hopeless. People who are negative tend to complain constantly, talk themself and other people down, don’t take responsibility, and/or can’t see any other point of view in situations.
Maybe you recognize yourself in this description. Don’t worry! It is okay not to be okay.
It’s okay not to be okay…
What causes negativity?
People are not negative from their core/soul/heart/brain (you name it). What happens to people in their lives and how they handle certain situations is what makes people negative.
BTW when you’re having a rough patch, this doesn’t need to make you a negative person. Next to this calling yourself a negative person won’t help you get on with your life.
How to never have a bad day again? Read this.
When something bad/traumatic/heavy happens to you, this affects you no matter how you react to it. However some people let one bad/traumatic/heavy event determine a period (long or short) or their whole lives.
It matters how you react to bad things happening to you. Will you let it define you or will you use it in your advantage for positive change?
The power to fight this negativity is within you. Having negative thoughts or a negative day doesn’t make you a negative person.
Positivity meaning
Positivity means feeling bright, uplifted, happy, and enthusiastic. It’s having the tendency to approach the world in a light, hopeful, happy manner. People who are positive tend to see the best in every situation (good or bad) and they don’t think in problems, but in possibilities.
When you’re a more positive person you tend to be happier in life. However, it is also okay to have a somewhat worse day once in a while. Don’t let the stigma of a positive person that’s on you determine your every day, everyone feels bad someday.
Without negativity, no positivity
This might sound contradictory, but it’s true. Think about it for a little while.
To see the positive in things you need some negativity, you need to see the contrast between the 2 of them.
Negativity and positivity go hand in hand, like two sides of the same coin. You need negativity in your life because it helps you truly understand and appreciate positivity when it comes.
Think about it: if everything was always smooth sailing, would you even notice how good things are? Probably not. It’s the tough moments, the setbacks, and the challenges that make the good times feel so rewarding.
Negativity isn’t fun, but it plays a big role in helping you grow. When something goes wrong, it pushes you to think differently, learn from your mistakes, and find new ways to tackle problems.
For example, failing at something might sting, but it also teaches you what doesn’t work and makes you stronger for your next try. Without those struggles, you wouldn’t build the resilience and skills that help you succeed later.
Negativity can also be a wake-up call. It makes you realize when you’re stuck or unhappy and motivates you to make changes. Maybe a bad experience at work inspires you to find a better job, or a rough patch in life teaches you to value the people who stand by you.
