Making your dreams come true isn’t easy, and you will not feel the best while trying to achieve them. It will build and grow your character and resistance. However, there is a hard truth that you should know about achieving your dreams and how to achieve them. You need to accept this hard truth and make moves to have your dream come to life.

Your parents
In your childhood you are constantly managed and directed by your parents, your teachers, your family etc. They make sure you make the right decisions and do the things you don’t want to do: “Senna, tidy up your room.”, “Do your homework, and have you studied for the test tomorrow?” Well, you probably know the drill.
They are trying to make you do the things you don’t want to do. As a kid, you think they’re being annoying, but they are just trying to condition you for the reality of life when you’re older.
But this works the opposite way once you’re 18, and you have to learn to stand on your own feet and make your own decisions and take action, most people don’t know how to condition themselves. They are used to their parent’s parenting.
The hard truth.
The hard truth is: No one is coming to push you, no one’s coming to tell you to do the thing, no one’s coming to save you. No one is coming. There is no certain person that will come into your life and help you. That person is going to be YOU.
Your own parent
self-discipline
When you turn 18, no one tells you it’s your job to parent yourself. Parenting yourself means it is now your job to make yourself do the crap you don’t want to do so you can be everything that you’re supposed to be. We are so caught up on waiting to feel like it, and you’re never going to.
Your parents make you do the things you don’t feel like doing. Because on your own you won’t, ever, not now, not then, not ever. And even when you get good at doing something, you’ll figure out something else you don’t want to do.
The concept of parenting yourself is really important to wrap your brain around. It’s the key to your succes.
It’s not hard, it’s just not the easiest way
It’s very simple to get what you want, but not easy. You know what to do, you just don’t want to do it.

Decision making
How we make decisions is important. We make decisions not based on what we know we need to do, not based on our goals, but based on how we feel right now. It’s your feelings that make the decisions for you.
That’s why parents are so important for kids. If we let it up to kids to decide what to do, they would do whatever they felt like doing. They’d never go to school, they’d eat candy all day, they’d never clean their rooms, they’d never use their manners.
So here’s the thing: when you’re an adult, you have to parent yourself and make yourself do the shit you don’t want to do. Here’s the rub you’re never ever, ever, ever, ever going to feel like doing the things you have to do in order to have what you want.
You’re always going to need to push yourself, you’re always going to need to parent yourself.
The bottom line is: no one’s coming.
No one’s coming to push you, no one’s coming to tell you to turn the TV off, no one’s coming to tell you to get out the door and exercise, nobody’s coming to write the business plan for your dream business. It’s up to you.
Free yourself
Because you’re only ever going to do the things that you feel like doing right now or that make you feel ‘good’, unless you understand and accept that you’re going to have to parent yourself, to push yourself, you’re not going to make your dreams come true.
We’re just not wired that way, you are not born this way and you’re certainly not this way when you’re an adult.
There’s a tremendous amount of liberation when you accept the fact that you are going to have to push yourself. This is the key to making your dreams come true.
This tactic has helped me every time to get the things done I don’t feel like doing.
